Lancaster County Tax Reassessment

If you are considering an appeal, keep in mind that hearings are brief. Property owners are generally given about five minutes to present their evidence, so preparation is important.

Strong documentation is essential. An appraisal prepared specifically for a tax assessment appeal is often the most persuasive form of evidence. Appraisals completed for other purposes may not carry the same weight.

The deadline to file an appeal is August 3, 2026. If you think you may need an appraisal, it is wise to contact an appraiser as soon as possible, as scheduling can become difficult as the deadline approaches.

Also note that hearing dates and times are assigned by the county. Property owners typically receive one scheduled hearing slot and may have limited flexibility to reschedule, so be sure to watch for correspondence regarding your appointment.
